March 14, 2010

Survivor Uses Aerial Filmworks Cineflex V14 for Aerial Production

Aerial Filmworks has again provided the Cineflex V14HD gyro-stabilized camera system for the latest Heroes vs Villains” Survivor series airing on the CBS network. Working in the tropical jungle conditions in Samoa, Mark Hryma of FlyBoy Pictures put the Cineflex system to the test day after day. The system worked flawlessly for over 250 hours of aerial filming time.

“Besides the Cineflex’s unparalleled “rock-solid” stabilization, the ease of switching between the long and
wide angle lenses allowed me to extend my creative vision.”

~Mark Hryma, Aerial Director of Photography

Gray Mitchell of Aerial Filmworks delivered the gear in specially designed cases to keep the maximum weight of any case under 70 lbs. This allows the equipment to be checked as excess baggage for immediate delivery. Upon arriving, Gray and Mark had the Eurocopter AS350B2 Astar rigged and ready to go within 2 hours.

The Cineflex V14HD system is manufactured by Axsys Technologies | General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in Grass Valley, California.
