Air-To-Air Filming of Hawaiian Airline’s First Commercial Airplane

Hawaiian Airlines Bellanca Airplane

Ron Chapple of Aerial Filmworks worked with The Traveling Picture Show Company and Director Chris Woods to shoot air-to-air of Hawaiian Airlines first airplane. The Bellanca aircraft was completely restored and a new Pratt & Whitney rotary engine installed. Filming was on Oahu at sunrise.

The camera ship was provided by Sunshine Helicopters and piloted by Jedrick Squyres while the Bellanca was flown by Mark Dunkerley, the CEO of Hawaiian Airlines.
