Cineflex Advantages

Aerial Filmworks working on a documentary film in Costa Rica with the Cineflex V14HD
The Cineflex V14HD is the ultimate gyro-stabilized aerial platform for HD aerial filming, video production and transmission line or pipeline survey. Extremely durable and weather-resistant, the camera can be flown safely at higher airspeeds in extreme cold, hot or dusty conditions.
Award-Winning and High Profile Films
Aerial Filmworks provides the Cineflex V14HD and camera operators for award-winning films. In 2011, “Inside Job” by Sony Classic Pictures won the Oscar for Best Documentary. The new Ice-T documentary entitled “Art of Rap” premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews. Aerial Director Mark Hryma won an Emmy for Outstanding Aerial Cinematography in 2010 using an Aerial Filmworks Cineflex system. “First Life with David Attenborough” won three Emmy awards.
Discovery Channel, National Geographic, History Channel, CBS, and BBC use Cineflex V14HD systems provided by Aerial Filmworks for prime-time landmark series and reality television programs.

Top Ten Reasons: Cineflex V14HD Systems Maximize Production Budgets

1. Lightweight. The camera gimbal, vibration plate and mounting bracket weigh about 95 lbs… far less than other systems that can easily top 500 lbs. The Cineflex can be mounted on a wide variety of aircraft.
2. Fast & Easy Installation. The camera operator installs the Cineflex saving on the extra expense of a dedicated technician. Aerial Filmworks will be ready to fly within 2 hours of arriving at the helicopter hangar. (As standard with any exterior mounted camera system, bracket installation requires a standard FAA form to be completed by the helicopter company.)
3. Higher Airspeed. The gimbal is rated for wind loads up to 200 knots (230 mph). The small size does not significantly change the aircraft flight characteristics.
4. Compact Size. The carbon-fiber sphere housing the gyro-stabilization system is less than 15″ in diameter. The turning diameter with the longest 42x Fujinon lens is only 23 inches.
5. Multiple Formats. The camera can record in 1080 and 720 vertical resolutions, and in both interlaced or progressive formats at a variety of frames rates. Frame rates including 23.98p, 29.97p and 60p are possible plus PAL standards of 25p and 50p.
6. Complete Color Control. The embedded Sony RM-B750 Remote provides access via a touch screen interface to all the functions of the camera. Colors can be adjusted and scene files stores on a Memory Stick for easy recall.
7. Dual-link 4:4:4 HD. The integrated camera is a Sony CineAlta HDC-1500R with resolution up to 1920×1080 capable of recording dual-link 4:4:4.
8. Rock Solid Aerials. The software and powerful motors of the Generation 3 system, along with military spec gyro, provide amazing smooth camera stabilization. The built-in microprocessors sample data over 2,500 times a second with an instantaneous feedback loop and motor control system that removes vibration. View gyro-stabilization demo reel.
9. Low Cost Shipping. The Cineflex V14HD system ships in only 2 cases with a total shipping weight of less than 200 lbs (91 kilos). Aerial Filmworks provides mounts for both Eurocopter, Bell 206, and Bell 407 helicopters that ship in an additional case as necessary. Record deck requires a separate case. Aerial Filmworks has specially designed cases that keep the weight of each case under 99 lbs for easy shipping as excess baggage on most USA airlines.
10. Extreme Conditions. Automatic heaters warm the motors in cold environments. The Cineflex system functions well at 20 degrees below zero, or in the heat of the desert at 120 degrees.
